Chase and Holland specialise in the recruitment of Finance and HR staff. The 2 founding Directors have over 15 years experience in specialist recruitment and have a team that have also worked within the industry. Our portfolio of clients varies from FTSE 100 organisations to small and medium sized enterprises. We are currently recruiting for a number of businesses that are looking for qualified candidates (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or CIPD) across a number of sectors.

A newly created position has become available for an Accountant with not only a broad and versatile background within Finance, but also with a confident manner and an inquisitive nature.

The role you will undertake is that of account production - the maintenance of all accounts from ledgers through to credit control, reconciliations, cashbooks and trial balance right through to the completion of monthly management accounts for a subsidiary business. This particular subsidiary does not currently have a dedicated Accountant and as such the workload is increasing dramatically - hence the need to get a full time individual in place as soon as possible.

This is a hands on position (although you will work as part of a small finance team, you will be solely responsible for the production of accounts) that will require you to not shy away from the day to day transactional work and to ensure that you have a full understanding of the cashflow at any given time which can be reported to the Directors of the business.

Aside from the day to day hands on accounts, you will need to be a confident communicator who possesses an inquisitive and investigative personality. You will need to liaise with various staff (sales, finance, senior management - both UK and abroad) and will need to be able to ask for information from these individuals in order to ensure your accounts figures are accurate and up to date.

You will also be keen to know what goes on within other business units such as sales and production (UK and abroad) and how their work impacts on the figures you provide.

You may be a fully qualified Accountant - alternatively you may be studying towards CIMA or ACCA or be qualified by experience. What is important however is that you can offer as much hands on practical experience as possible. You will be a hard worker who appreciates that to get these accounts running smoothly, a lot of time and effort will need to be given by you.
